Central and Southern Oregon

Chuck and I spent Thursday night with Tom and Pat in Bend. It was great to catch up and to see their wonderful garden. Sarah stopped by after work so we had a chance to talk to her too. She and Jason are fine in spite of a messy sewer backup.
Friday we drove down to Klamath Agency for a field trip with the Klamath Basin Rangeland Trust. We toured the Wood River Valley just north of Klamath Lake and Agency Lake. The valley is one of the most productive cattle raising areas in the world, but it also has fabulous fishing streams. KBRT is working to restore cool, clean, clear water to the valley so that it improves water quality and quantity in the lake. They've done amazing work already working with local ranchers.
We stayed Friday night in the restored supervisor's house at Klamath Agency and enjoyed a BBQ at the neighboring ranch.
Chuck is off to the North Cascades tomorrow for a week of backpacking. I'll tend the home front--catching up on all sorts of miscellaneous stuff.
